A high-level picture: what you own and what might pass outside the will (e.g. super, joint property).

Will type

A standard will leaves assets to beneficiaries directly. A testamentary trust will creates a trust on your death, which can help with asset protection and tax for beneficiaries. Your solicitor can advise which suits you.

Executors & beneficiaries

Who would you want as executor(s)? Who should receive your estate, and in what proportions?

Overcoming roadblocks: blended families

Coming to agreement when you have children from a previous relationship, stepchildren, or ex-partners can be challenging. Think about how you want to be fair and what you'd like your solicitor to know.

Guardians & dependants

If something happened to you, who would care for your children? What would it cost, and how would it be funded?
